DIY Skirt SLEEVES
This top below was made from material of a skirt for the sleeves, lace from another skirt for the edging hem, and lace and material from another shirt top for the middle piece:
TUTORIAL
I used a skirt and cut it. I used the top 3 layers of the skirt for 2 sleeves, as you can see in the image below:
To make the sleeve pattern, I cut off the original sleeves of the shirt I am using to connect the layered skirt sleeves too. I used the cut out sleeves to make the sleeve pattern:
Down below in the image, I should have cut the sleeves out on a folded line more like this:
Instead of like this:
I had to add more material onto the sleeve after it was sewn to the shirt top, because the shape wasn't cut out like this:
So my sleeves ended up looking like this, as you can see in the image below.

I connected black lining onto the sleeves before sewing the sleeves onto the top:
Here is an image of the sleeves sewn on. I added extra material to cover the holes at the armpits, because I cut the sleeve pattern wrong:
After sewing the sleeves on and fixing the holes, I then cut out pretty lace to go on the ends of this top:
I pinned the pretty lace on the sleeves and bottom of the shirt before sewing them on:
I then changed the middle of the blouse, adding more material and a line of lace to it:
This is what it looks like on!
One tip I have is to make sure to try on your top throughout the sewing process in order to ensure your top is fitting perfectly! You don't want to go through a lot of work just to end up with a top that doesn't fit.
I tried on this top before I even began the sewing process to make sure the top fit in the first place. I then tried the top on again when the sleeves were connected in order to make sure the sleeves fit right and were not too tight, which they did, even after I fixed the holes. So in the end, this top turned out cute and fit perfectly!
