Skirt ruffle tutorial
TUTURIAL
First, cut out material for a skirt:
Make it so your skirt has a front side fold on your skirt. Only sew up one side of the skirt together, so the right side or left side if your ruffle is on the right side instead of the left side. Also hem the bottom after the skirt is attached on one side.
NOW,
Make a shape you see like in the image below for the ruffle. To do this, fold your piece of material in half and then cut out 2 pieces in a shape like in the image below. They will be connected at the small flat side, so where the red line is in the image below(fold on line).

Use the length of your skirt to make this ruffle pattern.
The length of the inside of the ruffle should be the length of the skirt.
The width of the top side of the ruffle should be the width of the front side fold to the side fold, as you can see in the drawing below:
Sew the outer longer line of the ruffle with right sides together and turn inside out. (Not the side with the red line)
You will have to IRON down the fold once it is turned out, to make it flatter if you are using heavier materal:

The side with the red line in the image below shows you where it is connected together.
The side with the red line is where the fold is and it has been ironed:
The side of the ruffle where you can see a red line in the image above, attach that side to the skirt and attach a long piece that is the width of the top of the ruffle to the skirt too:
Now sew the unsewn side of the skirt together.
Here is an image of where your ruffle will be attached which is in the red and pink line.
The pink lines are where your skirt will attach onto the skirt(sewn onto) and the parts of the ruffle that only has a red line will be loose on your skirt:
You can also put your ruffle on the other side of the skirt, so like in the image below:
