Tutorial to make side ruffle for skirt!

Skirt with Side Ruffle

TUTORIAL

In the image below, you can see that I cut a maxi skirt to a shorter length(about knee length or longer) and cut the side ends in a little so it doesn't flare out:

In the image below is how it looks like after it was cut:

I used the excess material I cut from the skirt to make a sort of rainbow shaped piece which I used to make the ruffle:

I hemmed the outer side of the ruffle where it will show.

I sewed the left side of the skirt together, leaving the right side open where I sewed the ruffle.

 I hemmed the bottom of the skirt.

I connected the ruffle to the front right side of the skirt.

I then sewed the right sides of the skirt together where the ruffle is.

I then sewed the bottom and top of the ruffle to the back side of the skirt.

And it turned out good!

So that is how you can put a ruffle on a skirt!
